Controversial new video from Mayday Parade

AP Tour veterans Mayday Parade have launched their newest music video for "Kids In Love," but not without controversy. The video, although creative, features content that is probably deemed unsuitable for this pop/punk band's young (we're talking 12-16 year old) fan base. Graphic content includes: oral sex, drug use, abuse, sex (possibly rape), and nudity.
Overall, we must commend director Josh Mond's vision. It appears he went for a more realistic, and creatively "raw" video concept; one that modernizes the "sex-drugs-and-rocknroll" era that revolutionized the world in the 1960's. We wonder, however, if such a "honest" portrayal suits the society of 2010 or a band with a very young fans. But then again, maybe in a world that is constantly plagued by censorship-- see the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake incident-- it is time people wake up and realize that life isn't that much different than it was 50 years ago.

UPDATE: Mayday Parade posts blog on website to defend video, "it is not a promotion of vice but an exhibit on what it means to be young and in love, capable of making bad choices but having the time of your life while you live it." Read Blog
