Band Together for Lupus.

For those who may not know, John Lennon wrote the famous song, "Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds" about a painting of a woman named Lucy Vodden. Vodden recently passed away at the age of 46 after a long battle with the disease called lupus.

Julian Lennon and James Scott Cook have Band Together for Lupus to help make a difference. When you download their song, "Lucy" proceeds will help the Lupus Foundation of America and the St. Thomas Lupus Trust in Great Britain.

DC101's Festivus cancelled: Confirmed.

In the words of Weezer, "Say It Ain't So"...

This morning Barricade Buzz tweeted the news that Rivers Cuomo of Weezer suffered injuries in a bus accident in upstate NY. The frontman, and another member of the Weezer camp were hospitalized as a result. No other injuries had been reported.

News is now circulating about the cancellation of upcoming shows. On the MySpace for tour opener, Jack's Mannequin, the band writes:

Due to an injury, the remaining Weezer/Jack's Mannequin December dates have been canceled.

"Rivers, We are all thinking about you and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Sincerely,
Andrew and the Jack's Mannequin band and crew"

This means the Boston, Philly, and DC dates are cancelled. Looks like DC101's Festivus, "a holiday for the rest of us," which was slated to feature Weezer, Jack's Mannequin, and Motion City Soundtrack, will sadly be a holiday for no one.
