MySpace Monday

Here are some MySpace finds I think people should check out

+Nicole Frechette - This is actually my best friend's older sister, and her voice is amazing. I personally think she could give Carrie Underwood a run for her money, so if you're into female country, definitely check her out.

+Brett Anthony - this a soulful acoustic artist out of Florida. He kind of reminds me of Josh Hoge.

+Bryan Master - another acoustic artist, comparable to Elliot Smith

+Andrew Doonan - yes, another acoustic artist... except I went to high school with this guy and well, he's not half bad. He's got that modern day Goo Goo Dolls vibe going. I'd have to also throw in a blend of Ryan Cabrera and Matt Nathanson.

The Fray's Hips Don't Lie... Like, Seriously

So, this has got to be one of my favorite covers I've seen at a show. It's The Fray doing Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie." Gotta love YouTube, watch and enjoy because it's both hilarious, and yet a great rendition =)

MySpace Monday: A Fine Frenzy

So Today's MySpace find is A Fine Frenzy

A Fine Frenzy is a California based indie-piano rock band that features the soulful lyrics and vocals of 22 year-old Alison Sudol. These guys also happen to be VH1's "You Oughta Know" artist at the moment and will be on the YOK tour with Brandi Carlile.

Normally I'm not into the whole girl-piano-crying-over-some-guy with a dreadful soul twist... in other words, I didn't get into Vanessa Carlton or Michele Branch, and stayed faaaaaar far away from Norah Jones. A Fine Frenzy though has really changed my mind about women on the piano. Sudol's melodies are simple, but meaningful; poetry sung with soul, if you ask me.

"Almost Lover" is their current single, and they've released a music video. I highly suggest checking them both out and putting in requests.

If you're into artists like Norah Jones, Racheal Yamagata then you're gonna defintely want to catch this "fairytale gone a little weird" on tour this fall with Brandi Carlile, and pick up their record, One Cell In the Sea.
