This weekend marks the 40th anniversary of a music milestone, Woodstock. The 3-day peace, love, and music festival first took place in 1969 in Bethel, New York. This monumental event featured music legends: Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, and the Grateful Dead.
The massive crowds, over 200,000 attendees, led to infamous traffic jams, and poor sanitation conditions, making Woodstock '69 one unforgettable experience. The revolution of Woodstock would continue in 1979, 1989, and 1994 before finally being shut down after the chaos of Woodstock 1999.
