Club rock
Last month Two Door Cinema Club rocked the 9:30 Club in Washington DC with their up-beat melodies, and dance beats. Sending a sold out crowd of DC "hispster" adorned in the ever popular flannel button down and square frames into a massive dance party.

Break-up or Make-up: LCD Soundsytem

Earlier this week we learned that The White Stripes have called it quits, DFA Records have posted "A message from LCD Soundsystem." The message reads:
Pretty surprising news coming from a band that spent last summer gracing the stages of the U.S.'s famed music festivals.good people of earth:
lcd soundsystem are playing madison square garden on april 2nd, and it will be our last show ever. we are retiring from the game. gettin’ out. movin’
on. but for just one more night, we will be playing with friends and family for nearly 3 hours–playing stuff we’ve never played before and going out with a bang. and we’d like you to be there.if you would, we’d love it if people all came in white. or black. or black and white. and come ready to have fun, please. and come early, as the festivities will be opened by our favorites, liquid liquid. yes: liquid
liquid.if it’s a funeral, let’s have the best funeral ever!!!
What do you think of this news? @reply us your thoughts on Twitter to @barricadebuzz!

New album from Cage the Elephant
photo by Amy WillardCage the Elephant have returned with their sophomore LP, Thank You Happy Birthday. We weren't sure what to expect with this album after the free lease of one of the tracks, "2024," which felt more like something put out by The Killers than Cage the Elephant. Upon its release this past Tuesday, however, we were pleased with the album.
Thank You Happy Birthday proves the strength and diversity of this unique rock band that some listeners may have doubted on their self titled debut last year.
Buzz tracks: "Shakes Me Down," "Always Something," and "Flow."
