Rolling Stone gets a little nip-tuck
Yes ladies and gentlemen, the popular music publication, Rolling Stone Magazine is going under the knife and getting a face lift--or maybe it can be considered a breast reduction?
For over 40 years the magazine has been notorious for it's over sized pages and stapled end binding. Beginning October 17 2008, RS will standardize it's look, resorting to the standard magazine size paper and glossy, flat edge binding--yawn.
We here at Barricade Buzz are wondering how the change will affect the magazine's sales. Obviously we're going to continue to read, but we know we're definitely going to miss the jumbo size covers to pin up on the walls.

Betty Davis
Every time I hear "Betty Davis Eyes" by Space Cadet, I'm reminded of why I like them so much.
I kind of found them by accident... well not really... they happen to be produced by Taylor Tatsch, who used to play guitar for Ryan Cabrera, who I met at a show several years ago.
Closest Thing to Closure is their most recent release on Kirkland Records and has all the trimmings of one man's heartbreak.
You can sample their songs on their official MySpace. http://www.myspace.com/spacecadetband

Format frontman launches new project
Early this year the underground indie-rock band, The Format, officially went on hiatus. For eight months, the Arizona natives had little explanation for the break, other than they were not going to be making another album. Lead singer, Nate Reuss, has moved from the desert to New York and returned to the music scene with a new project called Fun.
You can sample the new endeavor now at http://www.myspace.com/fun.

So... we're watching the Olympics--more specifically Men's relay with Michael Phelps- this evening and the only song that can really come to mind is the theme from Team America: World Police.
